Healthy Snacks: 25+ “Quick Bites” for Tired, Busy Moms On the Go

I’m always hungry! I think most moms are at least a little bit hungry all the time. I can’t even manage to eat an entire granola bar on my own before my toddler demands half. Between household chores, changing diapers and cleaning up blowouts (with this cleaning hack), trying to fit in teaching moments for my 2 year old, and making sure the tiny humans have eaten, I often neglect my own needs or resort to eating something unhealthy because it’s fast. I can also never seem to think of what to eat on the spot. Out of sheer need, I’ve put together a list of more than 25 healthy snacks (that are quick and also budget friendly) to have on hand, make in a pinch or take on the go.

Many of these are Pinterest finds I’ve saved for a time just like this. I’ve included links to the recipes and original content for all the details. I also separated these healthy snacks into sections for your convenience (there are some repeats as a few of these snacks fit into more than one category).

Veggies

  1. Crispy Parmesan Garlic Edamame
  2. Veggies & Dip (with homemade Tzatziki sauce, Cilantro/Cucumber Dip or Avocado Ranch Greek Yogurt Dip).
  3. Broiled, Cheese Stuffed, Sweet Mini Peppers
  4. Pickles (I’m from the South, so pickled Okra is a fav, too!)
  5. Marinated Tomatoes
  6. Refrigerator Pickled Beets
  7. Carrot Chips
  8. Loaded Veggie Quesadillas

I LOVE veggies. Roasted, baked & pickled veggies are super guilt free and delicious. Roasting really brings out the different yummy flavors in veggies and is probably my favorite way to eat them. However, I don’t always have the 20 or so minutes it takes. These options are great tasting alternatives that give me that same pick-me-up.

Fruit

  1. Apple Tuna Bites
  2. Apple Slices topped with Cheese and Rolled in Ham
  3. Healthy Smoothies
  4. Homemade Apple Cinnamon Chips
  5. Frozen Yogurt Bananas
  6. Apple Cookies

As you can tell, I love a little carb action. English muffin pizzas are genius! They give you the same satisfaction as the regular stuff, but without the guilt. You can really customize these to your preferences, but I’ve listed two of my favorites.

There are so many good ideas here, it might be difficult to pick which healthy snack to try first. Go with something that uses ingredients you typically purchase anyway, and try to fit your snacking into your existing grocery budget.
